You all may have noticed that I tend to make promises for reviews well in advance. This is because, during periods where my workload is relatively light, I tend to accrue quite the backlog of reviews. One of the reasons I started releasing reviews on Sundays and Tuesdays was that I found myself at a point where I had a full 6 months of backlogged content, and adding anything more on top of that was starting to feel absurd.
The upside of this is that I usually can tell you exactly when you can expect the follow-up to a review that you enjoyed. The downside, however, is that if I ever need to do a major reshuffling of my schedule, a whole lot of promises I made are going to be invalidated. Rather than combing back through every existing review to check for references, thereby running the risk of missing one, I decided it would be more effective to just present the updated schedule as it now stands.
Let’s go over the schedule first, and then I’ll quickly break down why I’ve shuffled things around.
SCHEDULE
The following schedule covers everything I have planned on Fridays (and a few other days) between now and the end of March. There’s going to be additional content on Sundays and Tuesdays that simply isn’t listed here, as I like to be more fluid in scheduling those, especially since they’re often written off the cuff in response to whatever I’m reading at the time. Most of these reviews have already been rewritten, with the exceptions of The Strength of the Few, The Battle of Sapphire Bay, and the second and third Ravenor Trilogy books.
Also, this schedule is not final. I plan to stick to it, as I don’t like changing the date of a review after telling you all when to expect it, but I don’t know for certain what will happen in the coming months. Thank you all for your patience.

WHY I’M RESHUFFLING THINGS
A lot of people come to Recent Reads because of content linked to The Empyrean. However, this site doesn’t exist to tear about Yarros’s work and publicity (even if that’s what happens ever time that series comes up). I’ve been watching to see what else interests people.
The traffic to the reviews of The Will of the Many, Dot Monster Re:Volution, and Alchemy of Secrets has been phenomenal. I’m not sure how much of this I should chalk up to the formatting of those review series versus them just being about newer books you all are genuinely interested in, so I’m going to this information as a mix of both for now. You can expect to see more reviews split across multiple shorter posts going forward, and I’m planning to review The Strength of the Few, sequel to The Will of the Many, early next year.
However, to my surprise, there’s also been a lot of traffic on the Warhammer 40K content, and not just the short stories that I reviewed lately. Both Xenos and Malleus have been getting a lot more attention than most reviews that are older than 1 year do. I already have reviews for the rest of the Eisenhorn novels (not to mention the first novel of the spin-off trilogy, Ravenor) finished and scheduled. Rather than make you all wait until the New Year for the next Warhammer 40K novel review, I’ve decided to shuffle up the order of things to bring forward the content that seems to interest you all the most.
THANK YOU ALL
I really do appreciate you all sticking with me. I hope that you enjoy these reviews as we roll forward through this schedule. Take care, everyone, and have a wonderful week.
